The African Management Development Institutes Network (AMDIN) was honoured to attend the 2026 United Nations Public Administration Network (UNPAN) Annual Meeting at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, as a special guest, joining other regional public administration associations.

The UNPAN meeting took place on the margins of the 25th Session of the UN Committee of Experts on Public Administration, organised by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG).

The meeting was also a celebration as UNPAN marked its 25th anniversary. UNPAN is a global United Nations network that connects relevant international, regional, subregional and national institutions from all over the world, with the objective of promoting effective governance and public administration in line with Goal 16 of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

AMDIN is currently in discussions with UN DESA to formalise a partnership through UNPAN. This will open up the vast UN DESA global resources and network for African management development and public administration institutes that are members of AMDIN.

AMDIN is a network of management development institutes and schools of public administration and government in the continent, with South Africa’s National School of Government as the secretariat.

The President of AMDIN, Mr Tombola Muke leads the AMDIN delegation, accompanied by the Vice-President of North African region, Ms Nada Biaz and the AMDIN Secretariat from the NSG – Deputy Director-General Dr. Lakela Kaunda and the Director of Africa Affairs and AMDIN focal person, Ms. Pumla Nhleko.
